Management has extensive experience within the financial services landscape having participated in over $10 billion in financings as investment bankers, commercial lenders, private equity managers, consultants, etc. These transactions have ranged from start-up financing for entrepreneurs to public company spin-offs.

Kevin Sample-Managing Partner

Mr. Sample has over twenty years of financial advisory experience. Mr. Sample is one of the original founders and Managing Partner at Opus Acquisitions Group. Prior to co-founding Opus Mr. Sample was a Managing Director of Erasmus Advisors Co-Investment Fund which consisted of the following funds: Louisiana Growth Fund; New York City Growth Fund; Pinnacle Capital Fund (Wal-Mart, Inc)

Prior to Erasmus Advisors, Mr. Sample worked as a Senior Vice President at Walton Johnson & Company, a regional investment banking firm, where he managed the firms fixed income and equity sales and trading department. Prior to Walton Johnson, Mr. Sample was a Vice President at TIAA-CREF, one of the largest institutional investors in alternative assets in the nation. Mr. Sample also spent the early part of his career as a Financial Analyst at First City Bank in Dallas, TX. Mr. Sample received a B.A. from Morehouse College.

Howard Russell-Managing Partner

Mr. Russell has over sixteen years of experience within the financial services arena. His experience includes corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and business advisory services to diverse groups of clients. His work with Opus portfolio companies included managing institutional financing relationships, strategic planning, and day to day role as National Sales director for the telecom focused on Fortune 100 clients. Prior to co-founding Opus Acquisitions Group, Mr. Russell was a founder and Senior Managing Partner of Horizon Mezzanine Fund, LP a regional private equity fund focused on providing mezzanine and equity financing for small and midsized businesses.

Mr. Russell was also the Chief Financial Officer of Jaymore Electrical Products and Systems, a manufacturing, distribution and engineering company. In this capacity he oversaw the direction and management of the accounting/finance department. Mr. Russell has also spent time as a senior investment officer for Pittsburgh based CL Fund. In his role at the CL Fund he not only provided debt and equity financing for small and mid-size growing companies, but also strategic and financial advisory services to these companies. He successfully exited out of 10 investments as well as maintained loan loss ratios of less than 1.5%. Mr. Russell began his career as an analyst with National City Corporation. Mr. Russell holds a Master of Business Administration from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Wayne Greene-Vice President

Mr. Greene has over seventeen years of financial experience in areas including mergers & acquisition, corporate finance, strategic planning, tax and capital planning. Mr. Greene has held positions with various companies including Salomon Brothers, American Airlines, Argenbright, Stukes & Co. and his own consulting firm.

His financial modeling, analysis and tax skills were developed while at Salomon Brothers where he built models that had the ability to track and allocate expenses associated with tens of thousands of individual securities originating in every country where Salomon Brothers had business operations. His capital planning skills were honed at American Airlines where he analyzed capital projects valued from $500 thousand to over $200 million. Many of these projects were technical in nature including software, computer systems, avionics, and aircraft acquisitions. He built his strategy, budgeting and job costing skills while at Argenbright where he was the Regional Controller for the Southwest Region. While at Argenbright, he oversaw a divisional budget that grew by 130% in one year. Mr. Greene received his MBA from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College and a BS in Finance from the Whitman School at Syracuse University.

In addition to the above team Opus has a Board of Advisors with executive level experience in managing public and private organizations.
